What to establish before acting
Use the premise ESI ID, rate class, demand and usage information, current REP terms, and Oncor delivery treatment. Some offers show delivery separately; others incorporate estimates or components, so read the exact structure. Major charging, process, or HVAC additions can affect demand and service requirements independently of supply price. Use qualified engineering and utility processes for capacity or connection work. Commercial metering data requests also require proper authorization, distinct from blanket contracting power.
Illustrative decision boundary
A hypothetical Oncor business lowers its REP energy rate but adds equipment that raises billed demand. The total bill can still rise. Reconstruct supply, delivery, quantity, and peak effects instead of assume the lower quote guaranteed lower total dollars.

Questions & answers
Can I buy electricity directly from Oncor?
Oncor’s role here is delivery; eligible competitive retail service is arranged with a REP. Confirm the current premise and market arrangement through official resources.
Will another REP avoid Oncor delivery costs?
An ordinary change does not eliminate applicable delivery tariffs. Compare how the quote presents or includes them without treating a different invoice layout as removal of cost.
Who handles a local outage?
Use Oncor’s published outage and safety process. REP billing or renewal contacts have a different function, and supply shopping is not a local reliability upgrade.
Can I assume a fixed REP price fixes delivery?
No. Review included components, tariff pass-throughs, taxes, fees, and change clauses. A defined supply price is not automatically the entire utility-cost obligation.
What if I add a charger bank?
Assess simultaneous kW, interval timing, Oncor capacity or connection requirements, applicable demand tariffs, and the supply contract’s usage or material-change provisions.
